The company had everything an employee could wish for: A generous pay package, job security, excellent perks, and a brand name that made it easy to get girlfriends.
The life at FUWA Crane, the country's earilest manufacturer of crawler cranes, is a bit different now.
FUWA company is in Northeast China's Liaoning province, From the first company in the nation to produce crawler cranes to becoming the number one crane manufacturer by sales in China by 2006 to drop in sales.
Where once FUWA, just like the rest of the Northeast, grew at an astonishing pace, its bottom line took a hit with the development of the market economy and China opening itself up to foreign investment and technologies.
One Designer Mr. Liu, in the R&D, said the number of employees dropped from 2,500 to 250 without any new workers joining from 2016 till now, The labor force now stands at 80 only.
After the central government launched a major push to revitalize the Northeast,FUWA's sales revenue reached 100 billion yuan in 2008. It dropped less than10 billion yuan(1.5 billion USD).
Now FUWA is at a dangerous position, from last two years,FUWA decided to focus on the renting job instead of manufacturing. But in 2022, the rent market in China also become much worse than before.
Only time will tell FUWA's destiny, same as the empty hall in FUWA factory,we donot know what is the future of it.
